Tanta Gente, Mariana and Maria Judite Carvalho's restlessness

Abstract
This article aims at, in addition to disclosing one of the names that, although it appears to be one of the most relevant in Portuguese literary History of the twentieth century, apparently is one of the least read in contemporary times, Maria Judite de Carvalho (1921-1998), to focus on his inaugural book entitled Tanta Gente, Mariana (1959). Its most relevant aesthetic-literary and ideothematic singularities stand out, accentuating its very personal configuration, especially with regard to the credible thickness of the female figure(s), a set of lines that already announce the defining traits of the totality of her writing.
