Valores na obra infantil de Agustín Fernández Paz

Abstract

This paper is about the importance of an education focused on the transmission of values to children, alongside with the theoretical framework employed, among which we can point out Shalom Schwartz's and the reference to literature as an ideal source for this purpose. Agustín Fernández Paz is said to have always been aware of this potential of literature and it is announced that one of the points treated will be how the aforementioned teacher introduced and used values on his most relevant children's works. The group of suggested works was made attending to their quality and they are analyzed following the presence of two main values in Paz's works: the protection of environment and social justice. We treat in detail how these values are dealt with in the plot and how they are captured in the text through semantic units taken from it and from the plot itself and the intervention of characters. We finish with a series of conclusions that summerize the main ideas of this approach to Fernández Paz's narrative from the point of view of the values
