Abstract

This paper presents an approach to the art book for children and the possibilities it offers for the development of proposals in the classroom. It begins with a theoretical introduction to the concept of the art book from a non-restrictive point of view, which allows the establishment of a classification proposal designed for teachers. Then, the definition of competence in cultural awareness and expressions is also analysed, linking the knowledge involved with the use of the art book in the classroom. The study shows the potential of these works for the development of effective proposals for the artistic-literary education of children from a competence approach.
