Abstract

Within the framework of Galician literature, crime novel has been one of the most written genres that also has a great number of readers. The main goal of this essay is to demonstrate the existance of a model of Galician detective through the analysis of four characters: Leo Caldas (Domingo Villar), Frank Soutelo (Miguel Anxo Fernández), Horacio Dopico (Diego Ameixeiras) and Toni Barreiro (Manuel Forcadela). The study of these investigators, which appear in at least two novels, allow us to search for similar and divergent traits. Thus, the essay is focused on the search for features that conform the detective character in Galician crime novel through the books Un nicho para Marilyn, Luar no inferno, Ollos de auga, A praia dos afogados, Baixo mínimos, O cidadán do mes, Sangue sobre a neve and Barato, barato.
