A selected and annotated bibliography on language and education

Abstract
Although the relationship between language and education is intimate, it is not without its problems. A really crucial one is how the theory and practice of education consider language diversity (both interlinguistic and intralinguistic): language may turn into a barrier that prevents pupils from learning, thus becoming a source of conflict in schooling. Many educational and linguistic voices defend the need to avoid the linguistic uniformization that schooling has traditionally been endowed with. This paper selects and briefly comments 112 references that bring this problem to the fore and propose how it should be managed.
