Abstract
This article purports to examine the graphic design/publishing of the picturebook written and illustrated by Manuela Bacelar ?a precursor figure in the creation of this type of book in Portugal? , paying attention to the peritext while semantically active component and with relevant potentialities for the construction of meaning and narrative.
