Main Article Content
Abstract
This article fits into the working area of Catalan literature, specifically in the subject area of children's literature. Our research aims to study the work Mor una vida, es trenca un amor, by the valencian author Joan Pla. This is the bestseller literature for adolescents in Catalan to Valencia published in 1981. However, it remains on the recommended reading after multiple reissues. The objective of this research is to understand and interpret the changes that have been introduced along these 30 years. After exposing what the goals of our research are, we establish the corpus of analysis which consists of various editions of the book. This has turned to be a complex and difficult task due to the disparity in the data. Based on the methodological framework, besides the external and internal paratexts, we also analyze the account to determine the changes the work has experienced from the first publication to the last one. Finally, we conclude with an analysis of the book’s circuit of reading.
