Abstract

From the perspective of Thematology, the rewriting of the archetype of the evil witch is analyzed. With this goal, the focus is set on two key works, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its rewriting Wicked. The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. The construction of the character of the witch in each book is studied, to end up confronting both perspectives.
