Abstract

Myths and legends have turned water into the home of mermaids, undines, water spirits and other natural beings. The prestigious French writer and illustrator Benjamin Lacombe is immersed in these water spirits and in the German-Scandinavian folklore, and surprises us with a picture book entitled Undine published in Spain at the end of 2012, it is aimed at Children and Young Adults. In this article I will analyze Lacombe’s tale, focusing on its story wrapped in mystery and supernatural beings, on its main characters and topics.
