Main Article Content
Abstract
This study surveyed “A lingua das bolboretas” and how Manuel Rivas describes the situation in Spain moments before the outbreak of Civil War, especially in the educational field and family background. Some of the decisive educational figures, like teachers were left out after the war. Rivas’ work claims a recovery of historical memory and liberty. The similarities and differences between the written version and its film adaptation are explained. Moreover, it can be shown that the film extends the content that is contained in the narrative and how the original idea of this Galician writer has been respected.
