Abstract

The literature on the Andalusian speech varieties provides a short repertoire of morphosyntactic features (“ustedes” as a second person form of the plural, etymological unstressed pronominal uses, the order of “más nada”, “más nadie”, “más nunca”, etc.). The description in the ngrae of these constructions associated with the Andalusian linguistic variety is imprecise and does not always quote language samples that corroborate the theoretical description. Therefore, it seems necessary to find out whether such constructions are indeed present in diachronic corpora of Spanish written texts attributed to Andalusian authors. This study allows us to examine the Andalusian presence in the currently accessible corpora, check the representativeness of such morphosyntactic constructions and reconsider the list of features at this level that the academic prescription attributes to Andalusian speech in its most recent work.
