The paper offers an analysis aimed at finding the semantic value in Mexican Spanish of cierto when it is used in a prenominal position. Following on from previous studies and from analysis of a corpus, it is argued that cierto is an indefinite determiner which introduces a non explicit property, and that allows for both specific and non specific interpretations, from an extensional point of view.
