FILOSOFÍA DA FELICIDADE E LIBERDADE SEXUAL EN JEREMY BENTHAM

Resumo
Este artigo trata de analizar como Jeremy Bentham aborda o problema da compatibilidade entre a liberdade sexual e a felicidade pública. A continuación considérase o extenso corpus benthamiano sobre a cuestión das relacións homoeróticas, establecendo a súa cronoloxía e examinando os seus argumentos. Desde o principio de utilidade, Bentham defende a despenalización das relacións homoeróticas e os efectos beneficiosos desta práctica sobre a felicidade pública. Por último, explorase o contexto da proposta benthamiana: o debate ilustrado sobre as relacións homoeróticas e a chamada “anomalía inglesa”.
