BENTHAM Y LA DESPENALIZACIÓN DE LA SODOMÍA. ARGUMENTOS UTILITARISTAS Y CONTEXTO HISTÓRICO

Resumen
El presente trabajo es una puesta al día de la contextualización y presentación de los argumentos a favor de la despenalización de la sodomía expuestos por Bentham en diversos escritos, en su mayoría inéditos. En primer lugar y a raíz de la publicación del reciente estudio de Charles Upchurch se señala la necesidad de revisar la historiografía acerca de la relación de Bentham con la despenalización de las relaciones homosexuales. En segundo lugar, se contextualiza su producción escrita sobre el problema. Por último, se analizan los argumentos utilizados por el filósofo, enfatizando su carácter utilitarista.
