Abstract

The studies in Translation and Paratranslation which are beingdeveloped at the Universidade de Vigo put forward a new heuristicand hermeneutic frame of literary analysis. In this paper, the authorstarts from the most expounded theses on the field of Paratranslation(Grupo de Investigación de Tradución e Paratradución daUniversidade de Vigo) by focusing on ideology as an element ofParatranslation and on its specification into an object of study: thenotion of the proletariat in Galician poetry at the end of the Francoregime. Thus, I intend to start from the different glances on theGalician proletariat cast by a group of selected poets in order toarrive to an approximation of the political and social evolution in aGalicia located in the wrongly called transition. The methodologicalbases which have been used here are inscribed within the frame ofParatranslation, although as this project is not something dense, thistheory may also be connected to other ones such as Marxism (fromGramsci to F. Jameson) and literary sociology. Hence, I introducehereby new contributions to produce a mapping of the history of theGalician literary field at the turn of the 1970s, that is to say, amongstthe latest vanguard representations and the appearance ofPostmodernism.
