This paper shows the history, vitality and features of the traditionalcollection of ballads in Galicia and in those territories where thePortuguese language is spoken. It may be thus observed the elementsbeing shared by and which entail a difference between theGalician ballads and those produced in the countries of the so-calledLusofonía
