Images of Royalty, Heroism and Women in an Iberian Medieval Narrative - The Legend of Gaia

Abstract
This article intends to examine, among an Iberian medieval narrative of the XIII century called “Legend of Gaia”, the genre’s relations and the imaginary aspects referring to the social and political relations of the period. The narrative examined is presented in two versions included in two of the Portuguese Linage Books, which ones are analyzed comparatively in this article.
