Abstract

In spite of the interest in the history of contact between Spanish and Portuguese that documents written in America by bilinguals have, the truth is that there have not been many studies written on this topic. This is most likely due to the difficulty that uncovering such texts in archives presents. As a way to contribute to this work, the study at hand presents an anthology of texts written by bilingual Spanish/Portuguese speakers in Argentina in the 18th century. After describing the corpus and the criteria of editing used, the previously mentioned anthology is presented in triple: facsimile, paleographic transcription, and critical presentation. Certain phenomenon resulting from this contact, and that might be interesting to analyze in future studies, are then indicated.
