Abstract

In recent years, there has been a progressive development of transversal learning, especially in basic levels of education, becoming in fact a factor for qualitative improvement of teaching. The transversal contents, introduced by the main educational laws of the last decades, act as factors of change in the teaching methodology and in the organization of the centers. They also involve a greater approach to social characteristics, as is currently the case with health education in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The articles that make up this monograph address relevant issues related to the educational development of transversal learning. Thus, the important role of guidance and tutoring, the use of new technologies, the influence of school and community contexts, the social sciences as an area for learning democratic citizenship, the natural sciences in their approach to environmental education and ecology, the close relationship of language and literature with various curricular and transversal learning, the evolution of these contents in their legislative consideration from LOGSE (1990) to LOMLOE (2006)
