Abstract

School is immersed in such a way of life, which it forces to investigate in depth the violent phenomena in order to provide an accurate answer. It is necessary that the professionals who are working in schools must be trained to develop and to enhance plans of coexistence that have as a consequence an improvement in the school climate and the educational treatment of conflicts. Another important point is the teachers training in order to avoid school violence and to cater to ethnic, cultural and gender diversity. Therefore, It was conducted a research on “teacher training for the educational treatment of conflicts on cultural diversity and gender”.

The main objective was to know if the training that teachers receive tantamount to the needs of the current socio-educational context and reflect on whether its transformation is necessary. The question was: should we continue to work in the same way or need to make improvements and changes? A mixed research methodology was used. The results of the research confirm that, in general, teachers and students appreciate the diversity and they agree with an inclusive school which allows all types of students. However, the results state the fact that there are significant gaps in the training of teachers in group revitalization, treatment of conflicts, violence, interculturalism and gender.
