Resumo

The bulk. of the article is devoted  to analyze three problems that are confronted by consequentialism in the broadest sense, which implies to take into account the casual effects of the actions when undertaking their moral appraisal. As  a conclusion, there seems to be an unsolvable tension between the considerationof actual and ideal effects in undertaking the morally right conduct. In so far, as ideal effects must be taken into account, a radical departure from the broadest form of consequentialism has to be accepted. In sum, even the minimun sense of «consequentialism» does not seem  to denote a plausible moral outlook without important qualifications.
