Abstract

In the history of the studies about Ramón Pérez de Ayala there has always been a certain uninterest in his short narrative, specially his tales. We even lacked a complete corpus of his short stories and their bibliographic knowledge was almost none. In this article we aim to face the analysis of this part of the ayaline work from two perspectives: the first one, establishing that corpus from the bibliographic analysis of his tales and short stories production; the second, widening the group of texts conforming his short narrative prose by recovering three stories, unknown until this moment. Through these we can verify the writer’s interest in practising varied narrative modalities, and also observe how he offers the reader semiautobiographical plots
