The expression of (un)politeness in everyday dialogue is an effect usually ex-pressed through phonic resources in general, and suprasegmental ones in particular. Along with such morphological, syntactic, lexical, semantic, etc. mechanisms, the participation of the phonic component must also be taken into account, and even now it is one of the areas of study in which more research is required. The phase of ‘intuitive’ recognition of the various (un)-polite phonopragmatic resources is necessarily followed by the phase of their objective charac-terization; yet a thorough process of acoustic analysis is necessary for this to happen. For this purpose we use the method of speech melodic analysis presented by F. J. Cantero Serena (2002) in his book Teoría y análisis de la entonación.
