The present text is an analysis of the school contributes for digital inclusion, a fundamental topic on the Information Society. Bearing in mind the inclusion political strategies linking technology to education, we analyzed the teenagers’ relation with ICT, in particular with the computer and the internet, either on a formal educational context as well as in their informal (family) uses, competences and value of the ICT in a perspective of digital literacy. We studied a group of teenagers of a northeast Portugueses chool as well as the correspondent family group (parents). Research results show that there are deep differences in informal (family) context and that, in this particular group, school acts as a means of actual digital inclusion of a group of teenagers that otherwise would have great difficulties in internet and ICT access.
