Xtreme sports in public schools: the three dimensions of contents and development of critical thinking

Abstract
We describe a teaching experience in physical education classes held during the 1st half of 2014, for students in 6th grade of an elementary public school, 12 years old on average, located in a peripheral region of São Paulo (Brazil), in which extreme sports were thematized in three dimensions of the content as a part of the pedagogical project of the school. Through this learning experience in which students were able to experience, understand, reflect, analyze, discuss and produce knowledge about these culture of body and movement manifestations, was perceived a progress in the development of their critical thinking on the subject in his drawings and content of their dialogue with the teacher.
