Abstract

This research aims to carry out a contrastive study of unstressed pronouns (clitics) in two oral corpora from two different generations in Puerto Rico. As this is one of the countries that distinguishes case, it is particularly interesting to identify which are these verbs and how both structures are documented or facilitate the dative instead of the accusative, in order to unveil whether there are specific factors that influence the choice of pronouns. To this end, we address the use of third person clitics both in constructions of transitive verbs and of reinterpreted case.
