Abstract
Imperialism is a modern political concept, used to explain the expansion of the Roman Empire. Theend of the European colonial empires, in the second half of the 20th century, changed the researchon Roman imperialism and opened new perspectives of study. In fact, this issue has had an intensescholarly activity in the last 30 years.
