Abstract

Modern society is characterised by the importance of mobility in all its spheres. Contemplation and enjoyment of the landscape occur not only from a static perspective, but also as a result of movement. Geographical approaches to this are based on the concepts of transport and mobility and are encompassed within the geography of tourism.This article offers an analysis of the current state-of-the-art, and focuses on scenic roads and railways as core elements in appreciating landscapes while in motion.
