Abstract

This article aims to analyze the rendering of themes and linguistic elements concerning feminist issues in the translation of young adult literature from English into Spanish. Thus, the novel by Alix E. Harrow, The Once and Future Witches (2020), winner of the British Fantasy Awards (2021), is considered, as well as its translation into Spanish by David Tejera Expósito, Las brujas del ayer y del mañana (2022). Translation strategies are discussed in order to study whether the source text feminist approach is maintained, omitted, or even highlighted.
