Abstract

This article aims to analyze given names, nicknames and surnames in archival documents from Madrid from the 18th and 19th century in order to know which names and surnames were the most common and to check if there were any changes during these centuries. In addition, these documents might also help to confirm that new names could be spread of new names as well as two surnames which were established in the onomastics tradition in Spain.
