Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the process of grammatization of the forms ending in -RÍA of the Spanish verbal system in the Hispanic pre-academic tradition (1492-1771). The analysis has been focused on nineteen grammars of Spanish with different typology. The mixed methodology (internal and external historiography of linguistics) is based on the theory of grammatization. The corpus context, the terminology process, the values of AMARÍA in the history and its location in the temporal system of the Spanish verb have been analyzed. The article concludes with a study of the forms ending in -RÍA through our concept of the historiography of linguistics as a communicative act, which has allowed a detailed and meticulous analysis of the verbal unit investigated.
