Un corpus para la historia del español en Nicaragua: edición de documentos oficiales del siglo XVIII (1704-1756)

Abstract

The linguistic history of Nicaragua is still a real gap in the diachronic reconstruc-tion of American Spanish. This paper aims to provide a first philologically reliable document-ary corpus which contributes to the study of eighteenth-century Nicaraguan Spanish. The edi-tion of a set of 22 papers is carried out here; generally speaking they are short texts which are now all deposited in the Archivo General de Indias (Seville), and which were written in the main colonial centres of this Central American country between 1704 and 1756. A paleo-graphic transcription of each of the documents is offered here, together with their correspond-ing critical presentation, which facilitates the work of the researcher, who may choose to use any of them depending on his/her object of analysis.
