This article aims to analyze the formation of women at work in traditional rural production units and modern, through case studies, by the time we do reflections on the sexual division of labor. For this, we rely on literature searches and field in cheese factories in south-central region of Bahia in Brazil. The shape of cheese so well illustrates the characteristic sexual division of labor. When the activity is developed in places where you can observe the overlap between family roles and productive work, such as in rural units, is the visible presence of women and essential to its economic work. However, when the activity happens in industries units (modern) production process is masculine.
