Abstract
The popular religiosity of traditional Galician culture has an important role in dealing with natural disasters. The general lines of its importance are presented starting from the anthropological bibliography and the results obtained in the field work. It is important, despite the social and cultural changes that occurred in Galicia in the second half of the last century, to take into account the beliefs and rituals to face the natural risks from its prevention to its management.
