Abstract

Discriminating and mapping burned areas from forest fires is a key issue in post-fire management tasks. Remote sensing has proved to be an incresingly operative tool in this line of work. This paper reviews and explains a selection of the latest remote sensing applications and techniques used for burned area mapping focusing on its efficiency in terms of spectral feasibility, scale and precision.
