Resumen

El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar las principales barreras para implementar modelos relacionados con la economía circular y la logística inversa en el marco de la responsabilidad social empresarial en Ecuador. El estudio utilizó un enfoque cualitativo, utilizando una muestra no probabilística de siete empresas, entrevistando a expertos en los ámbitos de la gestión de la producción y las operaciones, así como de la logística inversa y la economía circular. Los resultados, proporcionados por el software Atlas.ti, identifican que los obstáculos más comunes para poner en práctica los modelos de logística inversa y economía circular son la falta de compromiso de las partes interesadas, de información sobre sostenibilidad empresarial e inversión privada y gubernamental y el impacto negativo en la relación coste-beneficio de las empresas latinoamericanas en función de su cultura empresarial.
