The press is one of the best known media in our society. The newspaper is identified with the adult world; it seems more serious and rigorous than other media, and for that reason, and because of its lack of color, small letter and large size, is the most distant to children in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education. This article aims to promote the use of newspapers at this educational level from a perspective of learning values, bringing concepts of tolerance, respect and justice to the youngest. It also shows the existence of a children’s press in previous centuries and a practice in the university classroom with future teachers of Early Childhood Education adapting a newspaper to the cognitive level of children.
