The aim of this article is to present the teaching of science to children from three to six years old, meaning the whole set of educational strategies that promote the relationship between child and the natural world, in both its animated and inanimated spheres, with the consequent activation of cognitive processes. In this study, a review of the literature is presented, paying particular attention to the lack of a clear and unequivocal thematization of the interested field. The research, studies and experiences range from the sensibilization towards environment topics to the rediscover of the natural world through a direct contact of children with plants and animals, or through approaches that stress the importance of introducing children to a method to investigate the phenomena of the natural world.
