Purchased by Don Segundo in the mid-nineteenth century, the collection of fine Sargadelos china on display at the Museo Sierra Pambley in León reveals the interest the bourgeoisie of Isabelina Spain had in equipping their houses with factory-made novelties that reflected their social background. This legacy of over one hundred pieces is a magnificent example of the most prestigious period in the history of the Lugo factory and a valuable resource for studying a series of imaginary and real views, in which common and less frequent themes are present in equal measure. The main aim of this paper is to shed further light on this extensive collection of china by dating it and analysing it in a morphological, material and ornamental sense, with a view to revealing decorative patterns in the lithographs and engravings of the time.
