Abstract

The publishing industry in Argentina had its origins in the late XIXth century. In the XXth century it had its moment of splendor towards the middle of that century. It then followed the concentration and foreignization of the world publishing sector that took place with force since the end of the 20th century. On the other hand, there was a multiplication of the creation of smaller firms dedicated to producing editorial products. In this evolution, some publishers were characterized by maintaining editorial policies that formed a catalog with publications on topics related to spirituality, pastoral care and religion. An analysis of some of these publishing companies and a review of their catalogs allows an approach to the place that pilgrimages occupy as a theme within their production. For this, sources such as catalogs, institutional and periodical publications, information from repositories and analysis of previous studies have been consulted.
