Resumo

En los últimos 230 años los eucaliptos han sido empleados en los cinco continentes como especies destinadas a la obtención de celulosa y madera, cubriendo en la actualidad las plantaciones de eucaliptos más de 22.000.000 ha en el Planeta. Estas plantaciones han repercutido positivamente en el desarrollo de la industria pastera y en algunas áreas, en la rentabilidad de los productores forestales, pero también han generado importantes impactos y problemas sociales y ambientales en los diferentes continentes donde se han establecido.
