Resumo

Este artículo estudia el desempeño comercial de los 12 principales países exportadores de bienes industriales en el periodo 2004-2013, analizando tanto la pretendida asociación existente entre la productividad laboral y la competitividad externa, como el rol de las industrias altamente tecnológicas en el éxito exportador. La aplicación de la metodología de Wang, Wei, y Zhu (2018), a partir del uso de matrices insumo-producto globales, para el caso del comercio de E.U y China, muestra el mejor posicionamiento de E.U en CGV y ejemplifica la relevancia de las nuevas dinámicas productiva globales para la evaluación del comercio internacional a nivel sectorial.
