Resumen

El 18 de octubre de 2019, la Asociación Europea Vía Francígena (AEVF) aprobó por unanimidad la Vía Francígena en el sur de Italia, desde Roma hasta Santa María dice Leuca. La nueva ruta enriquece el itinerario histórico cultural aprobado por el Consejo de Europa en 1994. Abarcando cerca de 900km de historia, tradiciones y lugares, la “Vía Francígena del Sur” atraviesa cinco regiones italianas. Este documento se centra en la Vía Francígena en Puglia y Campania, vista como una oportunidad para conservar y mejorar el patrimonio cultural y paisajístico de las regiones y su gozo por parte de los turistas. Además, también tiene como objetivo analizar el papel de las empresas locales, de las comunidades y de las organizaciones regionales en la promoción de las rutas. Cualquier proyecto centrado en el desarrollo y puesta en valor de un itinerario cultural en un espacio rural debe ser plenamente consciente de las conexiones entre lugares y de las redes de relaciones humanas, y “Vía Francígena del Sur” parece no
ser una excepción.
