Abstract
This paper aims to take into consideration the main features caused by the historical contact between Latin American Spanish and Portuguese. Special emphasis has been given to those features which identify this contact of languages in the Spanish-speaking world, while examples of these phenomena as they are produced in different areas in America have been also provided. Moreover, a description of Lusitanized Spanish based on the data from different articles has been provided and certain questions that need to be studied in the future have been posed.
