Abstract

Despite the importance of health literacy (SA) for the quality of life of all citizens, there is still little research on the subject. In this presentation we have tried to raise the current situation that ranges from the controversies about the situation of use of this term to the need for interventions in different contexts given the repercussions of a low level of SA for individual health, but also collective health. We highlight, above all, the limited research on the effectiveness of interventions in the educational field. And we finish by listing some educational strategies and actions that would be necessary to implement.

In the monograph, an attempt has been made to alleviate this deficiency by introducing five articles that allow us to approach the concept and intervention strategies in various contexts: school, community, health.
