Abstract

The article analyses the game as symbol of the world in Eugen Fink’s thinking. First, it determines the concept of the game as symbol and operative model to access the cosmological sense of the world. Then, it makes explicit the correlation between the world of the game and the game of the world as foundation of the symbolic character of the game. Subsequently, it makes explicit the features of the game phenomenon that allude to the cosmological meaning of the world. Finally, it elucidates the religious dimension of the game as a phenomenon that reconnects humans with the reign (walten) of the world based on the notions of commotion before the divine and joy of being able to be.
