Abstract

Juan Rof Carballo, a Galician physician (Lugo, 1905 - Madrid, 1994), is a meaningfulexponent of the so-called Humanistic medicine which developed in Spain in the first middleage of the XX century. Thanks to his essays regarding the anthropology and the epistemology,he contributed and foreseen remarkably some matters related to human philosophicalunderstanding, necessary to the authentic exercise of the medicine. Anatomical Pathologist and Biochemist trainer at first, then Psychosomatic Physician, Juan Rof Carballo deservesto be reminded as the introducer of Psychoanalysis in Spain, pointing out the most balancedand complete vision of the human being. Pivot of human conception is the original notion ofurdimbre —literally warp and frame— an original interlacing of relationship which preludesto the structure of the Self-Being, in which the concept of Tenderness reveals a fundamentalimportance, primarily in the parental care as the maternal one then in the other kind of care.
