We will deal with the relationship between María Zambrano and Rafael Dieste from a life and literary perspective. Both authors took part in the «Misiones Pedagógicas», an activity developed during the Spanish II Republic. In this duty they tried to make people aware of the importance of the transforming power of education. Distancing themshelves from the intellectualism of the members of the «Institución Libre de Enseñanza» they got closer to the people trying to find a common path where they could walk together sharing experiences and feelings. Regarding the literary issues we must point specially the work of both authors in the short-lived but fruitful journal, «La hora de España». Although both authors did not meet often during their lives they maintained a long epistolary relation. Through the lettersthey wrote each other we will see the most unknown profiles of both authors. A growing thought poured over the epistolary relation that kept them joined after the Spanish Civil War exile. Through the study of some of Rafael Dieste´s more philosophic works we will find junctions with María Zambrano´s poetic reason.
