Abstract

After decades of apparent serenity Spanish society took the streets in May 2011 to bring what many
consider a landmark in the history of social movements. This revolutionary process, despite being
new in its forms, has certain characteristics reminiscent of the revolutions of the twentieth century.
It is known the influence of Kropotkin in the Spanish rebellions of the twentieth century but are
still valid these libertarian principles today? This paper aims to answer this question by establishing
a comparison between the 15 -M movement and the conception worked two centuries ago by the
Russian thinker. The result of this confrontation will establish the degree of validity of the kropotkinians
approaches in the XXI century.
