This paper has the purpose of analizing the place of media, both massive and digital, within the process of uncertainty generation. It is here related to the knowledge construction and the social construction of reality, based on this premise: uncertainty is a societal component triggered by a series of factors, such as the media system. Informational abundance, seen as a resource to get rid of doubts and provide people with answers against uncertainty, is thus seriously questioned given a number practical situations in which instead of reducing such sensation, it does increase.
